The purpose of the Liturgy and Prayer Committee is to create and provide means through which individuals and families can better relate liturgy and prayer to their everyday lives, including the spiritual, home, work and social realms, so that all members live a deeper relationship with Christ and are better able to carry out the mission of St. John the Evangelist parish.

The focus of this committee is upon developing strategies to encourage private and family prayer; developing and implementing plans to restore Sunday as the Lord's Day with a focus upon Church, family, community, prayer, and rest; and preparing instruction in liturgy regarding the sacramental life as a part of everyday life.
